Welcome to the First State Kopites podcast. It’s episode 22 of season 3 – a podcast for Liverpool supporters in Delaware and friends of Liverpool supporters in Delaware. Thanks for listening on your preferred platform, we are available on ALL of them (and you can find us on YouTube).
It’s January 9th and just beat Shrewsbury Town 4-1 with a starting 11 that included Max Woltman (who Justin says is from the Wirral), Elijah Dixon-Bonner, Conor Bradley, Tyler Morton and Kaide Gordon. And we have the FA to thank for that! Kaide Gordon becomes the youngest player to ever score at Anfield in an FA Cup match!
We also look at the Chelsea game from last weekend, with the benefit of more hindsight:
o Chelsea gave up control to make it chaotic
o Team was disrupted again – Matip, no Firmino,
o Carabao Cup against Arsenal
o Brentford at home
o The fume about the Reds not playing on Thursday. What is this hatred of Liverpool that seems to pervade the English football world?
o ex-Pros talking bollocks – Sean Dyche and Lampard’s 60 games a season – never happened apparently.
o Most ridiculous thing we saw this week:
– Hyping the Man City Covid 19 outbreak
– Overstating the Chelsea injury list
– Man City’s ‘new’ sponsors
We’ll be back next week (potentially) after the Brentford game. Thanks to everyone – if you enjoyed the podcast, share it with a friend. Follow us on Twitter – we only tweet and re-tweet from sources we think are credible.
