Welcome to the First State Kopites podcast. It’s episode 21 of season 3 – a podcast for Liverpool supporters in Delaware and friends of Liverpool supporters in Delaware. Thanks for listening on your preferred platform, we are available on ALL of them (and you can find us on YouTube).
It is December 29th and we (Daz, Haitham, Justin and Paul) are joined by Mari Lewis:
o She tells us a little about how she became an LFC fan.
o Share the highs and lows of her trip to Liverpool
o Some conversation about her commentator notes
There’s no real way to dress that up the Leicester game as anything other than a kick in the pills.
o Klopp was pretty sanguine about how subpar his teams performance was. Was it “one of those?”
o xG 0.75 to 2.5 – 4 shots on target out of 21.
o The most vexing aspect is that LFC turned it back around against what might have been considered a full strength team 5 days ago but couldn’t make in roads.
Where does this leave us?:
o Can we make up 6 points on a squad that just doesn’t seem to be making any missteps? (Beasley tweeted that on City’s current form, we’d have to win 17 and draw 2 for the rest of the season just to draw level).
o Conversation turns positive when thinking about all the opportunities we still have
Other stuff
o Nice not to be able to talk about the refereeing. At least not in our game. Although how do Kavanaugh and Tierney get to work the City game together?
o As 2020 part 2 comes to a close, what have been your most memorable moments as a Reds fan?
We’ll be back in 2022 to hopefully chat about the Reds winning in style. Thanks to everyone – if you enjoyed the podcast, share it with a friend. Follow Mari on Twitter at @MariCLewis. Follow us on Twitter – we only tweet and re-tweet from sources we think are credible.
