Welcome to the latest edition of First State Kopites – a podcast for Liverpool supporters in Delaware and friends of those Liverpool supporters.
it’s episode 5 of our 4th season. I’m Paul and I am joined by Daz and Haitham, The countdown is on for the season – 5 days to go till we take on Fulham
Part 1 – Excited to chat about beating those entitled ‘Cityzens’ comprehensively!
- Darwin Nunez again
- Salah, Trent, Thiago
- Haaland, Phillips, Silva – what state do we think City are in?
Footnote about Strasbourg:
- Kelleher, Ramsay, Tsimikas, Keita, Chamberlain, Jones, Jota could all have expected to play in this one – instead we had a lot of youngsters out there
- Was really good to see some of the kids get a run out (Clark and Chambers for me personally) – Elliott looked sharp again.
- Bajcetic looks like he’s been playing for more than his years suggest
Part 2 – Season starts on Friday:
- How are we feeling about us? Fulham manager says they aren’t ready
- Thoughts about elsewhere – only Paul is watching Everton – Chelsea
Part 3 – Women’s Euros comes to a close:
- Germany outplayed France – It was surprising given what we saw from France against the Netherlands. Popp was the obvious difference but Oberdorf looked good
- England beat Sweden – Mead’s goal changed the game, even though the Russo back heel got all the attention. Sweden’s performance?
- And England beat Germany – fine margins indeed
- Some of the English coverage…. Those physical Germans
- What does it mean for the future of women’s soccer?
We’ll be back next week after Liverpool have played their first real game. Thanks to Haitham and Daz
